This is Bulbophyllum Elizabeth Ann 'Buckleberry'. This is the first time it has bloomed for me
Bulbo's often have a bad smell so it is likely they are pollinated by flies, ants, or other nasties. These flowers are about 9 inches long. I haven't noticed any bad smell from them (it's always good to ask when purchasing as some bulbo's can clear a room).
Like many orchid flowers these are continuing to grow and enlarge as they mature. The tips of the pouches are noticeably longer than they were a week ago. On some orchids, like certain slipper orchids, the tendril like petals continue to elongate until they touch the ground, then the ants can crawl up to pollinate. I don't know the facts on this one...but that is how it is sort of how it is behaving.
