Riding lessons

As you know, Christine, Olivia and I have been taking riding lessons. Tonight we went to the stable for another occassion. Our riding instructor got married. It was mostly traditional but outdoors and her entrance was unique. This is Sandi on Sassy (her first horse).

The bubbles were a big hit with all the kids (and adults).

So did Sandi on Sassy marry the Lone Ranger on Silver? Did they have a shovel bearer?

Looks like it's still warm over there.

No,he wasn't the lone ranger, He wore a tux, she had flower girls, and there were groomsmen and bridesmaids on foot. There are never enough shovel bearers. Imagine walking thru the open pasture where we parked...

Sandi insisted it was a traditional wedding. And I'd agree except the ceremony was sort of new age, it was in the back yard surrounded by stables and pasture, she arrived on a horse (who neighed her opinion loudly several times during the ceremony to everyone's entertainment).

They did a cool variation on the unity candle. The same idea but subsituting sand for the candle flame. She had differnt sand colors to demonstrate the blending of their lives.

We are still in a drought and in the 90's. The blessing is it is finally cool overnight. Cool being below 70. We have had a couple nights in the 50's. This is one of the worst drought and heat seasons I can remember. There will definately be some consequences in peoples' yards over the next year or two. I don't worry about my lawn, but I've been trying to water my trees and woody plants. Trees take a lot longer to show the stress and they are a lot tougher and $$$ to replace.
